When I go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections, the Wi-fi icon is not grayed out, but it has a red X below it. Use the switch on the front or side of the computer, or function keys if available, to enable wireless capability on this computer." (Thanks!!!) When I run the Troubleshoot button, the popup tells me t "Turn on wireless capability. When I go to the Network & Internet settings window, the network status says, "Not connected" Function Key (Fn) + F5 doesn't appear to have any effect, regardless of wifi hardware switch setting or airplane icon tray popup mode (Wifi grayed out or not) Clicking on the Airplane mode square has no effect. If I click on the wi-fi square again, the grayed out mode changes back to non-grayed out, but doesn't appear to have any effect. The airplane icon remains and no Wifi icon appears in the tray. On this popup, clicking on the Wi-fi square makes it grayed out after a few seconds, but doesn't appear to have any effect.

When I click on the airplane icon in the icon tray, popup says "Wi-Fi Turned Off" The wifi switch on the right hand side doesn't appear to have any effect. I had changed nothing that I'm aware of, and the previous day it worked fine. One day I opened up my T430s and it was in airplane mode: the airplane icon appears in the icon tray and the wifi was apparently disabled.
